Sketchy! Only car in lot-never saw another guest. Said rooms full- we had booked a suite- didn’t get it. Strong smell of weed and doors opening and closing all night long. What is going on here??

Daughter and I booked here April 7-9, 2024 as our base to see the eclipse in Rochester. When we arrived we noticed many unkempt people hanging around the parking lot. Several people appeared to be living there; one had a Welcome mat outside the door. Generally run-down with various odors. Monday morning, EMT's were in the hallway resuscitating someone who had apparently OD'd. Right outside my room door. We couldn't leave until they were finished. We heard them call time of death ... 7:51 AM. This is not the experience I wanted for my daughter. After the eclipse, I returned to the room, thinking to pack up and leave. I ignored the gentleman lighting up some kind of drug in the parking lot. As I reached the room, an unkempt man shouted "I want to show you something." I told him "not interested." As I started packing up my stuff, he banged and shouted at the door. I rebooked at another motel for our 2nd night. This is NOT the Super 8 I stayed at in years past, when it was reasonably clean and safe (great location near Wegmans and a short walk from downtown). It's now unsafe. You do not want to stay here. I've stayed in cheap motels across the US for years, and never encountered anything close to this bad.

Wyndham should be embarrassed to have their name on the signage of this hotel. From driving into the parking lot to the lobby and the second floor, it was very dirty and unwelcoming. I wrote 3 times to Wyndham management but never received any reply. The carpet was extremely dirty and needed vacuuming both in the lobby and hallway. Our room was in good condition expect for the very dirty window but since it was late, I closed the curtain immediately. When we turned off the TV it never went black, we had the largest night light in the world. Bathroom was clean. In the morning when I went to shower, there was no body wash or conditioner in the dispensers. I mentioned the TV and dispensers to the front desk person but she never even apologized. Wyndham is not a good company to use.

I ended up cleaning the floors and the towels were black with dirt. There was a dirty towel in the room from a previous stay. The room smelled like smoke. A number of staff were constantly outside3 smoking by the entrance way. With covid, I was very concerned. Breakfast was very limited. Luckily, Wegman's was right next door. I will not stay there again. I was on edge the whole time. I wondered if they even changed the sheets on the bed.

Don't let the dingy hallways and scare you away. The room is very pleasant. The breakfast can use a couple of extra features like fresh fruit hard boiled eggs yogurt and a non sugar cereal but it is adequate. Conveniently located in the center of Ithaca across the street from wonderful Wegmans grocery down the street from outstanding purity ice cream and easy access to Cornell campus museums botanical gardens and more at a fair price
